Limelight Theatre Company were delighted when Musicality asked KIDZ Choir to take part in a fundraising concert at The Norwich Puppet Theatre, on Saturday 1st July, 2017.
The theme of the evening was “West End to Broadway” with the opening number A New World. The audience were entertained by such songs as Bless Our Show, Magic Fingers, Circle of Life and Seize the day in the first act. After a short interval the stage was once again filled with a wide variety of musical songs including a lovely medley from Into the Woods, Shadowlands and rousing renditions of Master of the House and One More Day from Les Miserables. With songs from Wicked towards the end of the concert, the final song with everyone on stage, after several of the KIDZ Choir had walked through the audience with red balloons, was an emotional Bring on Tomorrow from Fame.
The audience were also proud to listen to a solo performance from young Millie, who at just 13 years of age, took to the stage with plenty of confidence – one to watch for the future!
Our thanks go to Sarah Browne and her Musicality cast for including both Millie and the KIDZ Choir Ensemble of Niamh, Tea, Molly, James, Lauren, Amy, Cameron, Thomas, Diana, Anya, Eve, Keiran, Emily and Jasmine.
A fantastic £573.66 was raised for the Red Balloon Learner Centre Norwich. Find out more about this fantastic charity here.
Looking forward to the next one!
…I went to see my granddaughter in the Limelight CATs production on Saturday the 1st June the matinee performance…
…The acting and singing standard from such a wide age range was so impressive, what struck me most was their professionalism in staying in character while just being a background extra! Fantastic I was closely watching every kitten on purpose, first-rate….
The costumes were first rate and the scenery what a simple but effective backdrop, well done the set designers. The makeup…wow …a work of art to perfection.
Please pass on my sincere congratulations to all who took part, there was not one person who let the side down and to use 40 children in singing dancing and acting showcased all their incredible abilities. Well done.
