11/12/2017 Successful fundraising at Limelight

It was a successful afternoon fundraising at Limelight Studios on Sunday 3rd December, with our very own KIDZ Choir performing in front of family, friends and supporters of Gifts to Gambia.

Act 1 was a lively mixture of songs including “One Short Day” from Wicked, “I’ll be there for you” from the TV show Friends and the “School Song” from the very popular Children’s Musical, Matilda, as well as the beautful “Somewhere only we know” made famous by Lily Allen and the John Lewis Christmas advert. The first half was finished with “Spread the love” from Sister Act.

Act 2 had a more festive  feel, with classics such as “When a child is born”, “Thank you Santa” and “The Polar Express” to name just a few. The final song of the afternoon, after a successful raffle was “Seasons of love”, a fitting end to a very enjoyale afternoon.

“Gifts to Gambia would like to say a huge thank you to all the KIDZ Choir and the staff at Limelight Studios –  Zelda, Martin, Sarah and Karen for all their help in getting the concert organised.

With your help and support we managed to raise an amazing £333.82.

Gifts to Gambia is a small project where we are helping a nursery school and the community surrounding it.  We rely solely on fundraising and donations and have so far managed to sponsor 30 children, pay their school fees, send 8 large parcels full of school supplies, clothing, food and toiletries.  We have sent money for urgent dental care and also paid for toilet facilities to be bult for the school children.  The funds from the concert are going towards sending each child at our nursery a shoebox of goodies and also other items urgently needed.  Thank you again everyone for your support.”
